Join Craigslist Foundation for a day of knowledge, resources and networking, all focused on how to start and run a vibrant nonprofit. Nonprofit Boot Camp is designed to educate and empower the next generation of nonprofit leaders and social entrepreneurs, connecting them with valuable industry resources, peers and potential supporters. The 2008 New York Tri-State Area Nonprofit Boot Camp will be held Saturday, August 16 at New York University. Boot Camp will feature keynote speeches from Paul C. Light and Majora Carter. Paul C. Light, Professor of Public Service, New York University's Wagner School of Public Service has written 18 books, including the award-winning Thickening Government and The Tides of Reform. He is also a co-author of a best-selling American government textbook, Government by the People. Majora Carter, Founder, Sustainable South Bronx. Carter is dedicated to fighting “environmental racism” and is a vibrant voice in city planning and urban renewal. Past speakers have included Ami Dar, Idealist.org, Sheena Wright, Abyssinian Development Corporation and Craig Newmark of craigslist.

Exhibit Hall

The Exhibit Hall will feature over 50 organizations that serve emerging nonprofit leaders and entrepreneurs. All of these groups provide services and products specifically geared towards the needs of nonprofits and professionals new to the sector.
